BOOMERLEARN is a program designed for school incursions to teach Australian school pupils all about the sport of boomerang throwing!

Ross and Candace Robertson have been making boomerangs since 1993. Being a science teacher Candace saw the need to share the knowledge and newfound love of the amazing sport, activity, and knowledge of the boomerang in Australian schools and culture.

By partnering up with Rob Croll, professional Boomerang Thrower, Ross & Candace are now able to continue the journey of sharing knowledge of Boomerang Throwing within the Australian culture.

In 1993 FlyingToyz Boomerangs and was founded by Candace and her husband Ross Robertson, and boomerangs became a way of life! In 1996 when the World Boomerang Sport’s Championship came to Christchurch, the sport world of competitive boomerang throwing was announced …  Being a science teacher and having a love of children, led to the development of soft, safe, foam boomerangs.  “Superangs” became FlyingToyz’s brand of colourful foam boomerangs!

Now in Melbourne as a Casual Relief Teacher, Candace has seen the need for something exciting that can capture the hearts of Australian school children as a major sport. Boomerangs are seen as an off-limit to children because of the danger element. Now with new technologies, the foam boomerangs are perfect for schools, and the sport of boomerangs can grow throughout Australia… BoomerLearn hopes to awaken Australian schools to the Sport of Boomerang Throwing. Candace has found that exploring the culture, science, and sport of the boomerang is endless, and along with science, still discovering fascinating facts to do with the flight and history of the boomerangs!

Ross has been making boomerangs since 1966 after seeing his local Aboriginal people demonstrate boomerang throwing at his local primary school in Peak Hill, NSW. Since 1993, Ross, co-director of FlyingToyz, has been developing new products that work, and easy to throw, and are safe. His understanding of aerodynamics comes from being a commercial pilot and carefully studying the latest boomerang designs from around the world. By utilizing new foam and plastic technology FlyingToyz, with Boomerlearn, can now create new amazing hi-tech boomerang products.
